Orbital Cargo
Orbital Airways To Open Cargo Division
Orbital Airways is announcing today that it will begin operating a cargo-only division as early as June of this year. The cargo division will cover some, or all, of the current route network in operation with ORB and Air Teremun.
With the ongoing deliveries of new Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft, Orbital Airways will begin transitioning some of its older A300 and A310 aircraft into cargo service. These aircraft will undergo freighter conversions as early as this Spring.
Orbital Airways pilots currently operating scheduled passenger flights will have the option of booking cargo flights once operation begins. Through negotiations with the pilots union representing the pilots, Orbital Airways will be awarding additional bonus points per flight for cargo operations through at least 2025, offering pilots an incentive for booking cargo flights.
